How to turn a simple lamb leg into a mouth-watering delicacy? The answer is simple: cumin powder, black pepper, rosemary, oregano, and a little tenderizer. Follow our steps to create a delicious and tender Chinese-style lamb leg that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
Ingredients:
Lamb leg - 1
Cumin powder - 2 tbsp
Onion - 2
Black pepper - 2 tbsp
Sea salt - 20g
Carrot - 2
Peas - 400g
Tomatoes - 2
Garlic - 2 heads
Olive oil - 100g
Rosemary - 2 sprigs
Oregano - 2/3 tbsp
Tender meat powder - 3 tbsp
Step1
Use a knife to cut cross cuts into the leg of lamb. Evenly spread cumin powder, black pepper, rosemary, oregano, sea salt, and tenderizer on the surface of the meat, and let it sit for a while.
Step 2 :
Add the garlic and remaining rosemary to the cross incisions made on the meat.
Step 3:
Wrap the lamb leg with foil and make sure there are no gaps.
Step 4:
Put the wrapped lamb leg in the fridge and let it sit there for at least 8 hours, or longer.
Step 5:
Prepare the base: Cut the carrots into sections, chop the onions into pieces, puree the peas and tomatoes together, and mix with a little olive oil and sea salt. Then mix the lamb leg, which has been refrigerated for a sufficient amount of time, with the base and wrap it in foil before putting it back into the fridge for over 8 hours.
Step 6:
Preheat the oven to 220℃ for 10 minutes, insert a wireless meat thermometer into the lamb leg, open the app, and set the temperature. I suggest setting the temperature to 150℉-167℉/ 70℃-75℃. Then put the lamb leg and the base together into the oven. At this step, you do not need to wrap the lamb leg again with foil.
With these easy-to-follow steps, you can make a delicious and tender lamb leg. The combination of cumin powder, black pepper, and other spices makes for a flavorful and aromatic dish. By preparing the base and allowing the lamb leg to marinate in the fridge for over 8 hours, you'll have a dish that's sure to impress. Finish it off by baking it in the oven with a Bluetooth meat thermometer to ensure the perfect temperature. Enjoy!
